Community Service Opportunity. Voter Registration!

My name is Olivia Brady and I’m the Youth Engagement Coordinator for NYC Votes at the New York City Campaign Finance Board.

I am writing to invite youth from Bronx Academy for Software Engineering (BASE) to participate in our upcoming programming.

Please continue reading for descriptions of our offerings, including a paid 9-month program and a Civics Week training series. Youth can also earn service hours for completing a training or volunteer opportunity with us. We would appreciate if you could pass these opportunities along to your students and school network. Civics Week Training Series – in partnership with Civics for All

Students can earn service hours for participating in these trainings. NYC Votes offers a Core Civic Engagement Curriculum consisting of interactive digital trainings and workshops for youth 14-24 years old, educators, and youth service providers. We have partnered with Civics for All for a special series to prepare students to virtually participate in Civics Week (March 8 – 12). This trainings series is a great opportunity to learn more about voter turnout in NYC; how to register yourself and your peers to vote; and Ranked Choice Voting. Young people will walk away with the skills needed to mobilize their communities to cast their ballots.
