Community Service Opportunity. Voter Registration!

My name is Olivia Brady and I’m the Youth Engagement Coordinator for NYC Votes at the New York City Campaign Finance Board.

I am writing to invite youth from Bronx Academy for Software Engineering (BASE) to participate in our upcoming programming.

Please continue reading for descriptions of our offerings, including a paid 9-month program and a Civics Week training series. Youth can also earn service hours for completing a training or volunteer opportunity with us. We would appreciate if you could pass these opportunities along to your students and school network. Please let me know if you have questions.

Civics Week Training Series – in partnership with Civics for All

Students can earn service hours for participating in these trainings. NYC Votes offers a Core Civic Engagement Curriculum consisting of interactive digital trainings and workshops for youth 14-24 years old, educators, and youth service providers. We have partnered with Civics for All for a special series to prepare students to virtually participate in Civics Week (March 8 – 12). This trainings series is a great opportunity to learn more about voter turnout in NYC; how to register yourself and your peers to vote; and Ranked Choice Voting. Young people will walk away with the skills needed to mobilize their communities to cast their ballots.

Find a full schedule of trainings and register for a session here.
