Google Code Next and ELiTE are looking to recruit

intellectually curious Black and Latino/a students from BASE to join our Google Code Next Team Edge program. Team Edge is a year long computer science program beginning October 17th and ending in June of 2021. We meet virtually three Saturdays per month from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM with a lunch break. We also provide an intensive College and Career Readiness Course three Wednesdays per month after school. Students can apply through this link: https://www.elite-education.org/codenext2020. We also have a Code Next General Membership model open to all high school students that can commit to weekly after school clubs. Code Next Members can choose after school clubs in three thematic areas: Coding, Physical Computing and DIY Making. In the attached club recruitment flyer there are examples of the types of clubs students can join. For students to become a member they have to commit to participating in three afterschool clubs throughout the school year. Interested students should use the same link to apply.

ELiTE (Emerging Leaders in Technology and Engineering) is a community-based youth development organization that utilizes computer science and engineering education as a vehicle to empower Black and Latino/a students’ which have historically been underrepresented in CS and STEM fields to realize their academic and career potential.

Your student Joseph Donaldson is a dedicated valuable member of our Team Edge current cohort. He is one of our top coders and that earned him a role as a junior coach in our summer high school CS program.
