Hello all!
This is Brandi Daniels and I’m a Program Administrator at City in the Community, which is the non-profit organization of New York City Football Club. I’m reaching out today to send out our Young Leader Training Application. The Young Leader training will be held on February 18th – 21st in the Bronx. We are hoping to receive around 5 applications from your organization. The application could be found here. This year the standards have been raised not guaranteeing acceptance for everyone. Around 40 applicants will be able to participate. The ideal candidate will satisfy the below:
Between the ages of 15-20 years old
Strong Leadership Skills
Service Driven
Hard Working
Open minded
Goal Oriented
Team Player
Growth Mindset
As you may or may not know City in the Community has been hosting Young Leader Trainings worldwide for the last 5 years. City in the Community coaches have been traveling the world to implement face to face training and mentoring with over 500 youth. Training is focused on enhancing the leadership, communication and team work skills of young leaders, as well as sharing valuable knowledge on how to use the power of soccer to create a genuine social impact in their community.
The Young Leader Training is the beginning of a journey for candidates. Two participants could be selected to travel to New York City FC’s sister team Manchester City FC in England to take part in the global youth summit this summer with over 70 like-minded young people representing 18 countries.
This year a select group could also take part in our Young Leader Mentorship Program. This program starts with the Young Leader Training and gives candidates the skills to develop their coaching and professional skills. They will be paired with CITC Senior Coaches to guide them throughout goals setting, skill and professional development. It’s a journey that not all will complete but those who do will leave with the skill set to be a CITC Young Leader and much more.
Additionally, we have employment opportunities for Soccer Bloc – a youth led program bringing soccer clinics, festivals and after-school programs to further develop their skills and careers
This experience is an investment in the development of young people giving them the tools, experience and responsibility to step and make a difference in their own communities or help build skills capacity in your organization. If this sounds ideal for some for your participants, please have them fill out this application as early as possible. Applications are due no later than February 3rd! If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
We look forward to receiving your applications
Best,
Brandi Daniels
