Games for Change (G4C) is excited to announce the Inclusive Play: Designing Games for All Game Jam on November 23 @ Samsung NEXT in Manhattan - the first game jam of the school year!
Game jams are all-day game-making workshops for middle and high school students as part of the G4C Student Challenge, a game design program and competition where students make games about real-world issues affecting their communities. At this jam, students will learn about the theme of Inclusive Play from theme partners AT&T, and will create video games that are fun and accessible for all, regardless of disability.
We invite students from all experience levels to:
Learn essential game concepts by remixing classics like Tic-Tac-Toe and Rock, Paper, Scissors
Outline their dream social impact game
Test their ideas with a physical prototype that they'll play with friends
Flesh out their mechanics in a digital space using platforms like Scratch
Get tips from professional game designers
Try out games created by peers
Registration for this game jam is FREE and open to all public middle and high school students in NYC. No prior experience with game design or computer science is required. Lunch and computers will be provided for all attendees!

The Inclusive Play Game Jam will be the first of 4 jams hosted throughout the 2019-20 school year. Info on future jams will be added to our Events Page as soon as they are scheduled.
