Young people need a new set of skills to be prepared for the jobs of the future - technical agility and digital fluency are essential. Information Technology (IT), Cybersecurity and Web Development are at the center of many different fields including communications, finance, healthcare - and a springboard to career advancement.
Per Scholas is a non-profit organization based in the Bronx that provides tuition-free technical training for adults. Per Scholas is offering a 4 day ‘Introduction to Tech Careers’ bootcamp over spring break with the goal of exposing high school students to careers in IT, Cybersecurity, Cloud-based Networking and Web Development. The bootcamp will include:
Hands-on tech activities
Information about careers and how to attain them after high school or college
A visit to a tech company
Lunch every day
The bootcamp takes place at Per Scholas’ Bronx location, 804 East 138th Street, off the 6 train, Cypress Avenue stop.
Students do not need a tech background to attend, but they must be interested in learning more about tech. Juniors and Seniors are eligible to attend the bootcamp if they:
Commit to attending all 4 days, Monday April 22 - Thursday April 25 from 9:30-3:30
