BOSS Entrepreneurship Program This summer on 149th

We have four spots for BASE students to get into an entrepreneurship program hosted at our office on E 149th near 149st-3rd Ave stop.

Students will have the opportunity to look at themselves and the community around them with the lens of entrepreneurship. Working as social entrepreneurs, this internship will place students in the middle of the community around them and turn problems into opportunities by developing business ideas to combat them. Seeped in the concept that the best entrepreneurial practice is by “really” doing it, these students over the six week internship will create a socially conscious business that can live and positively affect the Bronx long after the internship is over. Students will be required to be ready to dive into a business idea and work with a group of other students to achieve this.

  • Students will work as a group to identify a local community need and begin to strategize, through an entrepreneurial lens, how they can create a product to address the need.

  • Students will participate in community mapping, strategic planning, and product ideation.

  • Students will visit with local Bronx entrepreneurs to learn about what it takes to be a successful a business owner.

  • Students will develop a business plan.
