NASA Maps Opportunity for BASE students

Learn how astronomers use computers to create images of our Universe in 2D and 3D formats! You’ll learn basic coding, starting with familiar objects and simple concepts such as shapes and colors, graduating to astronomical objects such as exploding stars and areas around black holes. Following a scaffolded set of activities from coding to 3D modeling to Virtual Reality, and working with real data from NASA orbiting telescopes, you will experience real world applications of science, technology and even art.

All BGC events are geared towards introducing participants to the technological universe and encouraging them to pursue careers as Tech Creators and Entrepreneurs. This event is intended for girls ages 9-13.
