Net Neutrality Hackathon Apply here

Tech Kids Unlimited teen program STAND UP FOR THE INTERNET: A Hackathon on Digital Citizenship, Net Neutrality and Privacy

Sunday, March 25, 11:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Join us for this one-day event for teens (ages 14-21) where teens will be collaborating and learning about digital citizenship, net neutrality, and privacy. Students participating in the TKU Hackathon will work to explore issues related to internet health, namely net neutrality, online privacy, and digital citizenship. All students will participate in activities that involve thinking critically about what they share and how they protect themselves online, learning about practices like web tracking and password strength.

Students will then do a deeper dive into either net neutrality or digital citizenship and use their newfound expertise to create web games and shareable assets aimed at raising awareness about internet health. Student work will be combined to create a shareable internet health toolkit to encourage our communities to help #protectthenet!

Every activity incorporates open-source, web-based tools that can be used for further learning and tinkering at home.
